How can Stoicism help you?

In the article before, we have discussed briefly what is Stoicism. By learning and practicing this teaching it can be beneficial to you in challenging your daily struggle. It could serve as a motivation or virtue to live by through hard times.


It could help you in the least to accept things as they are and to be resilient in facing a great challenge. Is it wrong to be stoic? I would personally disagree. Stoic people are tough yet flexible. They are easy to adapt to any given situation, especially through tough times or catastrophic situations. Stoicism can act as a defense mechanism as well. It helps them to stay strong and cope with their situation. Stoics can be seen to care about other people's feelings.


This can be a negative thing in some cases. However, it is good to never be too emotionally involved with somebody. People expect other people to care for them and that is wrong because you should never expect anything from anybody, that would be egoistic. Even people that show feelings or care about other people's feelings can be bullies.


Notice how the caring mommy can put down her kids and be overprotective which puts down the kids in the real world because they are left naive to such dangers. Notice how people that are emotional seem incredibly happy but emotional gratification is a selfish indulgence when taken too far.


Stoics do not go to parties, which may make them seem like party poppers, but stoics do not live for such selfish pleasures. By living not for personal indulgence in pleasure, you can live life with a clear vision. See things as they are, and not be clouded by emotions and restrain
