How to overcome our Problem

We, as human, have the desire to grow. To be better than what we were yesterday and to achieve greater things tomorrow. This sense of need is an undeniable fact of being a human.

As Maslow explained in his hierarchy of needs, when we have fulfilled our basic needs, such as foods and water, and psychological need, such as relationships and friends, we cannot help ourselves but to have a socalled self-fulfilment needs. This are the needs of self-actualisation.

Under this term are the need of achieving one´s full potential, improving oneself and the need of creative activities. Let us now dwell on this thought of self-improvement and learn how to build the foundation for growth and the hunger for thriving even further. First things first, develop your interests.

Spending time on activities you enjoy, or you are good at does more than just make you feel better about yourself. It encourages and empowers you with a sense of freedom that let you express your emotion and motivates you to keep going and building up your skill. Next is to set your goals. The way you perceive success can affect your motivation and willingness to achieve it.

You know yourself the best, so know what your strengths and weaknesses is. By realizing those then it will be easier to set your goal straight. It may be overwhelming to reach a certain career path that you want, or achieve that dream of becoming an artist, but do not fret. Keep reminding yourself to take things step by step.

It is probably hard to achieve that success, that you want, overnight. To run a marathon, the first thing you need to do is taking that first step.

Break down the things that you need to do to achieve that goal, and slowly work your way around it. Finally, do not forget to practice gratitude. Reflect on what you have done so far to reach this point in your life. All the work you made and all the mistakes you have done, are what made you who you are today.

It is okay to give yourself a pat on the back from time to time. To realize how far you have made it, gives you the motivation you need to keep going. And if you need more motivation, you can always give yourself a small reward for what you have accomplished – be it a cupcake that you always wanted from that bakery right around the corner, or the time you can give yourself to relax and enjoy the fruit of your labour.
